The hands & the flame (& the mess)

My favorite tool—the one without which none of this would exist. My torch, my old-school blowtorch. ✨

Soldering is about feeling, seeing, and knowing exactly when the metal will melt and fuse everything together. It's incredibly satisfying when all the elements align, bringing the piece in your mind to life! But it can also be nerve-wracking—jewelry is small, and overheating the wrong part can ruin the whole piece, forcing you to start over. Sometimes, parts melt... and not the ones you intended.

Working with silver makes things even trickier, as you have to heat the entire piece evenly. One section gets soldered, but then the part you just finished on the other side falls off. Patience and calm are essential, but when you know what you're doing, it can feel like meditation.

I had the honor of creating this stunning, custom pair of gold ear pendants, featuring these gorgeous cabochon pear-cut emeralds. 💚

We chose pendants instead of studs so they can catch the light and reveal their full beauty. ✨ I love emeralds, and it seems you do too!

The hoops aren’t too big, so the emeralds sit just below the lobe for an elegant look. We should all have a versatile pair like this with the gems of our choice!
